Bug Description

I've been trying to test with unity-system-compositor; works OK for my laptops internal screen (Lenovo x230) but with my 27" DisplayPort attached external monitor, I get the desktop albeit with a snowstorm overlay.

I'm taken back to the days of analog television with poor reception if that helps explain things.

affects: unity-system-compositor (Ubuntu) → unity-system-compositor
