Can you create a version of unity mail for Unity8?

So far, I have been unable to start a Unity 8 session at all, let alone one that could be used for development purposes. As soon as Unity 8 + MIR reach a usable state, I intend to start porting UM to it.

I am shelving this for later.

Just tested, Unity 8 does not work in 16.10 either. Postponing to 17.04.

Unity 8 still does not work in 17.04. Also, Canonical is apparently dropping the whole Unity 8 project:
