firefox doesn't go to the gmail tab when selecting "Compose New Mail" from the messaging menu

Bug Description
When I select the "Compose New Message" in the messaging menu the gmail tab doesn't gain the focus, so I have to go to tab select it manually.
I'm not sure if this is a bug but at least I think is a desired behavior.
To reproduce just open firefox
open gmail
open another tab with whatever you want
With the focus in the second tab, go to the messagin menu and click on "Compose New Mail" in the gmail section
