Bug Description

After installation of webapp via either chromium or firefox, attempt to launch webapp other than Amazon renders no page.

Tested on unity-webapps-launchpad, unity-webapps-googleplus, unity-webapps-facebookmessenger.

Expected result: webapp launches properly within container and corresponding web page displays.

Actual result: webapp launches within container and remains blank, no web page displays.

Recent update to webbrowser-app seems to have fixed issue with unity-webapps-facebookmessenger and unity-webapps-launchpad.

Cool, thanks for confirming the fix.

Glad I could help. Unfortunately, after most recent update, now the webapps are all acting as nothing more than shortcuts to the corresponding site in the default browser.

We're just enabling Unity integration with the upcoming Oxide container.
It's getting close. Thanks for your patience.

I have exactly the same problem as in #6 comment. webapps open in new forefox window (no with dedicated browser) and no Icon is displayed in the Launcher

Is the Firefox window blank in this case? Or is that an icon problem you
are reporting?

No, the firefox window is not blank. There are two problems : 1-webapps doesn't open in webbrowser-app ((firefox instead)and 2- no icon in launcher

We have released a series of updates, with that latest fix for example:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1300864 This uses our new Oxide based
container.

I welcome your feedback on the new runtime and hope this will let your
use your web applications properly now.

I confirm this bug is fixed. However, I have noticed an issue when ANY webapp is open (or even webbrowser-app), touchscreen functions are severely limited, i.e. unable to single tap to click on touchscreen and multitouch gestures in Unity cease to function.

Functionality inside the webapp is fine, but the rest of Unity is affected. I can report this in a separate bug report, and will probably even include a video to describe the bug better.

And yes, please create separate bugs for the issues you are describing. Note however that touch support on the desktop is not enabled fo the new container. It is limited to the mobile platform right now. This is a known limitation, but worth reporting nonetheless.
