chromium 29.0.1547.65-0ubuntu1 and later wants extension JSON in /usr/share/chromium-browser/extensions/

Bug Description

In chromium-browser 29.0.1547.65-0ubuntu1 and later if /usr/share/chromium-browser/extensions/ exists, then it will be used INSTEAD of what the plugin uses now, /usr/share/chromium/extensions/ .

If you Depend on at least that version, you can get away with just installing to a new place. If you prefer a period of compatibility, symlinks should suffice, or just install JSON to two places. It's small.

In any case, /usr/share/chromium doesn't fit filesystem naming standards.
