Bug Description

Moving pointer the far left of the screen fails to reveal the Launcher if a menu is open. This includes both normal right click menus and indicator menus.

To Reproduce:
1. Open a indicator or right click menu (say by clicking on the sound indicator, or right clicking inside firefox)
2. Mover the pointer to the far left edge of the screen.

What currently incorrectly happens:
- Nothing!

What should happen:
- The Launcher should reveal
- The indicator menu should remain open until the user clicks anywhere on the screen (other than some areas in the currently open indicator menu)

What is the rationale for this change?

More specifically, is there any good reason for the launcher to work differently with indicator menus than it does with any other menu?

If not, then someone whose pointer slips to the left while they're opening a "File" menu will open the launcher, which won't be what they want.

When the OS X Dock is in autohide mode, it never reveals while a menu is open.

Well spotted MPT, this is a wider bug that applies to all menus, I'll update the bug description. The Launcher should always be available, it's reveal should not be disabled when a menu is open.

John, I find that this doesn't entirely make sense. You responded to mpt's question with a blanket statement "the launcher should always be available", however I challenge this.

What's more, as I mentioned in email, this is not simple, and I don't think it is higher priority than a lot of other design issues.
