Bug Description

Dual Monitor setup with larger screen and resolution on the right, when Unity 2D starts the launcher can bee seen on the left monitor but the panel is only shown on the right monitor, and no Ubuntu button is shown.

To show the launcher when a window is maximized on the left screen you must place the mouse cursor on the top left corner of the RIGHT monitor, this also makes the Ubuntu button appear on the right monitor and moves the window title to the right

also when a window is maximized on the left monitor there is no window controls and one must press alt and drag the window down

makes the desktop unusable, will show screenshots

Thanks for the report Samo. You are hitting two separate known issues:

 1) The main panel (the one that contains the Ubuntu button to show the dash) shows on the primary monitor instead of the leftmost one. This is bug #757652, and it is already fixed in the development branch (you can try it out if you are using unity-2d’s daily builds PPA, see https://launchpad.net/~unity-2d-team/+archive/unity-2d-daily for instructions).

 2) The top edges of your two monitors are not aligned (in fact they are aligned along the bottom edges), so the panel on the leftmost monitor is out of sight (and so is the dash, partially). This requires a fix in Qt. We already have such a fix, but it is currently pending a review by upstream Qt developers. This is tracked by bug #735937.
