Bug Description

I have LibreOffice StartCentre in my launcher. If I open a document (in this case an odt) it creates a new entry in the launcher. Instead of using the original LibreOffice StartCentre entry or the Writer icon, it just makes a duplicate of the same StartCentre Icon.

This is quite likely an issue with the version of bamf in Maverick, which was partially fixed in Natty.

In Natty, if I open an odt document *and* if I have a favourite icon for LibreOffice Writer, the open document will be correctly matched with the existing icon. If I open an odt document and the only existing favourite for LibreOffice is that of the StartCentre, an additional entry appears in the launcher, but it has the icon of Writer, which makes sense.

However another interesting side effect happens when I launch LibreOffice StartCentre from the dash: it replaces the default LibreOffice Impress favourite’s icon with the one of the StartCentre. I would tend to think that this last issue is very similar to bug #741160.

Not only with LibreOffice Start Center, with LibreOffice 3.4 this issue it's present with Writer, Calc, or any other suite's apps.

But, the upcoming next icon has not' "icon". For more details, see here (http://askubuntu.com/questions/38929/libreoffice-shows-many-icons-on-the-launcher-what-can-i-do-about-this/48554#48554), my question on Askubuntu.

Martin, I think you are not using Unity 2D but Unity.
