Bug Description

unity-2d 0.4-0ubuntu1~bzr405

When compiz is enabled and you click on the menus of an app in the panel there are no shadows around those menus but when you move to system indicators(sound menu etc) they have the shadows.

Shadows of most application menus (Firefox being an exception) are drawn by the window manager/compositor. Metacity has the capability to draw these, but it is disabled by default as Unity2D should run everywhere.

As Lohith suggests, you can enable them with gconf-editor by changing /app/metacity/general/compositor_effects setting. However older hardware may find this problematic, so use this setting with caution.
