[dash] in non-composited mode, fullscreen dash has gaps at right & bottom edge

Bug Description
Run unity-2d in non-composited mode - can be set via metacity gconf key, or by running inside VirtualBox without the necessary drivers.
Maximise the dash and see it does not fully fill the screen, there are gaps at the right & bottom edge. See screenshot
