Bug Description

I have a brand new Thinkpad X200 with Vista preinstalled. After downloading and running unetbootin-windows-282 I selected Ubuntu 8.04.1 and waited until the iso file had finished downloading. When ask to restart the computer I did so and the Windows boot loader showed me to options Windows Vista and Unetbootin.

I tried to select Unetbootin but Windows boot loader failed and told me that i couldn't find or run "ubnldr.mbr". The error message was

File: \ubnldr.mbr
Status: 0xc000000f
Info: The selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt.

I found a least one other person having this problem in the ubuntuforums thread:

I had the same problem with Windows 7 64 bit.

bcdedit shows the wrong device ("boot" instead of "partition=C:")

I fixed on mine by logging in, running cmd as Administrator, and running

bcdedit /set <the id of Unetbootin> device "partition=C:"

Note that the id will be in the form of a GUID, in curly braces. To see what it is, just run bcdedit without any arguments.
