Mac OSX error

Interesting, I'm assuming the version you're using is 625 ( https://launchpad.net/unetbootin/trunk/625/+download/unetbootin-mac-625.dmg ) and the OS is 64-bit OSX El Capitan? Do you get the same error on 613 ( https://launchpad.net/unetbootin/trunk/613/+download/unetbootin-mac-613.zip ) as well?

You are correct. I am using 625 on OSX El Capitan 64-bit. This was the
first time I had to run unetbootbin from the command line, because it was
not detecting the usb drive. The last time I ran unetbootbin (613 or lower
- I can't remember) it detected the usb drive fine. I only saw this error
because I had to run from the osx terminal to give it the usb /dev/disk5s1
that I wanted to install to.

On another note, does OSX unetbootbin now set the bootable flag? It took
some digging before to find the commands but OSX fdisk does support setting
the bootable flag. This is important, because I am downloading and creating
a usb stick from a Mac to run on a PC.
