Bug Description

Hello Marcos,

I hope you maintain uNav because it's most useful navigation imho.

Last travel I made with my family was in France. In my opinion three things would make uNav more perfect.

1. Please, skip all "continue on the road" events. I never saw a useful usecase for this event after usage uNav for more than 10.000km. It happens on driving over a bridge, when a path accross a road - or just on a highway.
Please skip it and just show the next one <> "continue on the road" event!

2. if the distance between two events (next and over next) is shorter than 500m, uNav should show both of them. It's very important if you have two "round abouts" (typical for France :D)

3. Please, rotate the map if uNav doesn't navigate. Just in driving mode. Very important in cities! It would make usage more easier. Currently it shows to North.

Best Greats
Artem

Hi and thanks a lot Artem,

About your points:

1. Are you in the last version? I fixed it and it should say that just 1 time.

2. This would need a UI redone. I'll keep in mind for a future interface improvement :)

3. The map doesn't rotate in no navigation mode because 2 things:
  a. Until you don't start a navigation, the app doesn't use GPS.
  b. You can read the street names.

So great to have your feedback with so much km :))
A big hug Artem!

Hey Marcos,

1. I would remove it from uNav (or make it optional). "continue on the road" doesn't make sense (in my opinion) -> if I don't have to exit or turn off, then I don't need a reminder for "continue on the road" :). It zooms in all the time on places like I explained in bug description.

2. agree with you...

3. could you make GPS usage optional? something like driving/follow mode?

Hi Artem,

About point 1: I can not remove an indication from the API, because I
don't know which could be its importance ;)

About point 3: I want a so simple user interface, and asking things like
that in settings is not KIS for me :)

A big hug and thanks a lot for your feedback!

Hey Marcos,

1. You don't have to remove it from API :)... just don't display it. Instead display over next event. Look. Today I had a trip over 200 km on highway. uNav displayed ca. 10 times "continue on the road" -> that doesn't make sense. I have to know when is the exit I have to take. That would be very important to know for me but uNav shows "2km -> continue on the road".

3. All navigations I know have the "follow" mode by default. So far I know - it's not possible to disable. You could add a new button to the top bar for on/off this mode.
PS: I'm not alone :)

Hi :)

1. Yes, I understand your position. But remove anything from the API is
critical. I through on that and (by now) I would prefer to keep it :)

3. I'll think on that, it's not easy as it appears ;)

A big hug and thanks a lot :)
