Bug Description

When I log-in I find only the destop and docky (i put it on the right on the screen).

No upper bar, nothing appens when I move the mouse on the corners. There is also no composition (Docky says it to me).

I can start a terminal from docky, but no with keyboard shortcuts. Also Alt+F2 doesn't function.

When the terminal opens from Docky I can start gnome-shell with
gnome-shell --replace
and it says me these things:

It's probably an issue with gnome-session or gnome3-session. Try this in terminal and let me know what happens:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install gnome-session
sudo apt-get install gnome3-session
sudo apt-get install gnome-shell
sudo apt-get install network-manager-gnome

Otherwise, this is an upstream issue. The gnome-session, gnome3-session, and gnome-shell packages currently used belong to the GNOME3 PPA, and they need to be updated to the latest versions from GNOME's git repo.

I'm building a new gnome-session from GNOME's git now, should be in the PPA tonight.

Nothing changed.
I updated, upgraded, dist-upgraded, without improving anything. I had to start the shell from a terminal, these are the responses:

What can it be?
Is there anything I can check?

My builds failed and I didn't know, so it never got in the PPA. Those auth errors are a known issue in the natty beta.

Every time i'm installing ppa: Ubuntu GNOME Remix and a set of commands (climbs following):

sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
Reading package lists ... Finish
Building dependency tree
Reading state information ... Finish
Possible to correct these errors you might want to run `apt-get-f install '.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  gnome-session: Depends: gnome-session-bin (<2.33) but 3.0.1-0ubuntu1 ~ build2 already installed Depends: gnome-session-common (= 2.32.1-0ubuntu20) but 3.0.1-0ubuntu1 ~ build2 already installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try using-f.

I certainly use the command apt-get-f install ... and install Gnome 3.
As a reward, get the following Gnome 3, and the ability to log into the system ... from case to case, ie, typing login and password that is not the fact that I see the desktop, again sometimes I can enter sometimes not. Even in classical Gnome 2.

Any change on this bug?

I have noticed similar things happening when accidentally logging in to the normal Ubuntu session on a system without unity.

It's very random, sometimes it works and sometimes not.
I noticed that lately the second chance is more rare.
