It would be nice if ufw could support limiting the download and upload rate as a whole or per application.

Just wanted to let you know that I have not forgotten about this. The issue is that I need to define the command syntax carefully to ensure usability, future work and similarity with PF.

Unfortunately I've not had time to integrate this in ufw. I've reviewed the patch and it needs a lot of work to apply to the latest branch. Before anyone does that the cli syntax needs to be studied and developed and the patch updated accordingly. This is a feature I think would be a great addition to ufw, and hope to get to defining the syntax soon, perhaps at the next UDS.
