Bug Description

After upgrading a fully working Karmic UEC installation (both clc/cc and nc) to Lucid (which upgraded eucalyptus from 1.6 to 1.6.2) I can no longer ssh or ping to any instances.

SUMMARIZE:
The problem that appeared to be a network problem was actually due to the instance not being able to bootup all the way. This happened because the UEC Karmic=>Lucid upgrade had overwritten some of our custom configs located under /usr/share/eucalyptus/. This caused the instance to be unable to mount its root disk. Once we recreated our configurations and restarted all processes then we were once again able to launch and login to our original images instances.

I'll mark it won't fix since there won't be too many karmic->lucid upgrade around.
