Bug Description

Working on Ubuntu Cinnamon Remix using Ubuntu 12.04.1 as a foundaton (both 32 and 64 bit.)

Unable to upgrade linux 3.2 kernels in uck chroot. apt-get throws an error at the --configure stage and leaves the linux kernel packages as unconfigured as errors encountered while processing. This occurs on both 32 and 64 bit .isos.

Upgrades to most current kernels occur fine following hard drive installs using uck customizes .iso images, but live images still show the following:

Linux ubuntu 3.2.0-29-generic-pae #46-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jul 27 17:25:43 UTC 2012 i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux

at a uname -a (32-bit) when the current kernel is: ubuntu 3.2.0-31-generic.

Using uck 2.4.6

Thanks.

Kind Regards.

Switch to non-pae kernel and am now unable to reproduce the problem. Withdrawn for now. Thanks.

Changed in uck:
status: New → Invalid

Problem only appears in 64-bit 12.04. Kernel does indeed upgrade to 3.2.0-32-generic but remnants of old (deleted) kernels remain. Apport keeps popping up errors that 3.2.0-29-generic is not installed.

Attached is apport crash log.

Thanks for consideration. I will continue troubleshoot and attempt to come up with a workaround. However, uck needs patched to permanently fix this.
