Bug Description
Rather than including vcredist_x86.exe and running it as part of the installer, it may be better to package a standalone copy of the runtime to live alongside binaries (in dist/).
There would be no change to users, but this would allow for an easier way to build installers, especially in an automated fashion. We can just pull the runtime from the local machine and set it up properly alongside the binaries. There's a few pages out there which lay this out - I've also done it at a previous employer.

I couldn't figure out how to do it, but then again, that's why you are the windows guy :-)
