delete and merge buttons are not shown after adding first contact

Bug Description

When I added my first contact, it was shown on the list but the Select All, Merge and Delete were not visible. After refreshing, they appeared.
I could continue adding contacts without refreshing and I thought that there was no way to delete them.

This might be related to issue #727671

To reproduce:
Open the web browser and go to https://staging.one.ubuntu.com.
Click the link Sign in or Sign up with Ubuntu SSO.
On the page Sign in to Ubuntu One, click the button New acount.
On the page create an Ubuntu Single Sign On account:
    Enter your Full name.
    Enter your Email address.
    Enter and confirm the password.
    Enter the captcha.
    Click the button Continue.
Go to your email inbox to get the verification code.
On the page Registration mail sent, enter the verification code.
Click the Continue button.
Wait for the validation process to complete.
The web browser will take you to the page https://one.ubuntu.com/services/plan/subscribe_basic.
Click the button Agree & Subscribe.
Go to the Contacts tab
Click the link Add Contact
Enter test name as the first name, test last name as the last name and <email address hidden> as the email.
Click the save button.
