Bug Description
When a letter does not have any corresponding contacts it should be hidden. It takes too much space to navigate the letters properly, i.e. scrollbar appears even when there is only one contact in letter A.
I believe the CSS rule for .empty class should be set to display:none.
See attached screenshots.
The problem with non-ascii contacts and their grouping is filed as bug #540755

I'm not sure if I would hide them. Let's think about it, play it out, see how it feels.
