Bug Description

The initial syncing of Tomboy works fine for me. But everytime I change some content of a note (for instance something as simple as removing or adding lines to the text) and then sync the notes my curretn changes are overwritten by the old notes already stored in Ubuntu One.

This means I cannot use the synronization features of Tonboy with Ubuntu One because everytime I want to change something I would have to create a new note instaed of changing the content of the old note.

Sorry,

I have to correct myself. After I read a Twitter message posted by the UbuntuOne team I reconfigured the Tomboy sync (re-authenticated the computer) and tried it again.

At least now the notes are not overwritten anymore. Still, the problem I have is that changing the content of a note "NoteX" now creates a note "NoteX (Old)" and another note called "NoteX".

Please, if you release software with such heavy issues concerning the stability, performance and usability then
1) do not simply release the ubuntuone messages about changes via Twitter (at least not only via twitter)
2) next time, do not declare a software as beta, if it is not: I have problems with every feature of UbuntuOne since its release. Many bugs have been fixed now, but there are many (too many) other bugs left open. For me, beta software is something that has some (and not many) issues left and needs some workarounds. Ubuntu One has too many errors to be declared beta, especially because there are many bugs where one cannot apply any workaround.

Btw. at the moment it is not possible to change the name of any note by using the Ubuntu One web interface (this means meanwhile I have many notes called "NoteX", "NoteX (Old)", "NoteX (Old)1", "NoteX (Old)2" and cannot delete the wrong copies from the server and rename the right one "NoteX (Old)" to be "NoteX" etc...
This mess, by the way, was created because I had delted those old notes with the wrong content (I did this locally) and then created them anew with the correct (updated content) ... the result was the greatest mess you can imagine. And travelling down the wrong road farther and farther brought me to that moment in which I decided to file this bug report.

If you are now confused by all that information in one single bug report: try to imagine how confused I felt when the syncing of Tomboy initially did delete all my changes, then created a huge amount of duplicated notes (of the old, wrong, outdated notes) and now I cannot even change the note titles via web-interface.

I am commenting on this bug because I cannot get so far as to receive the error message mentioned in the duplicate bug. I have tried clearing settings and re-authenticating as suggested but I can't get any further than this. I receive the 'Note conflict' error message each time I try to synchronise, over-writing any changes I have made and whenever I try to re-authenticate I keep having to add my computer again and again in Ubuntu One.
