Bug Description

I use the web interface in a remote desktop session over a vpn connection, but the web gui is not usable in this constellation. When I click the ulpoad button, the background gets orange very very slow, after apr. 30 sec the new window apears, but the new two buttons are also very slow in action.

Is the web GUI to complex for this constellation, and why?

Other Web Application f.e. google calendar works very well.

"When I click the ulpoad button, the background gets orange very very slow, after apr. 30 sec the new window apears" I meen:

until the background color changes, it takes aprox. 30 sec then the new window appears.

Thanks for your bug report.

It could very well be related to IE7, but we do want the web UI to work with all major browsers.

We have had performance issues at times during the BETA, generally on days when many new testers have started. This may also have contributed to what you're describing.

There will be a revamped WebUI in the near future that will correct many performance related issues.

Out of curiosity, what is the link speed for your vpn? Which windows version is your IE7 running on? This information would help tracking the problem if other users should report it.

IE 7 running on Windows XP Professional (32bit) SP 3

The speed of the VPN connection is max. 10 MBit, but shared with others, so it can slow down to apr. 2 MBit. But I don't recognice a difference between full speed, or when I just can use 2 MBit. The performance of the WebUI seems not be affected by this.

Hi fgr, My apologies for the delay in following up on this problem. We recently updated the web UI. I know there is at least one issue with IE 8 on Vista in the new web UI. Can you try again and report your results? Thanks!

I've tried the web UI on an other machine (Windows XP SP3, MS IE 8) and found an other problem. In the tab files there appears just the information 'Loading...' and that's it. My files doesn't appear, neather the upload buttos etc.

Here the error details from IE 8 (in german):

To copy files from or to a XP Computer and for a higher acceptance of ubuntu one it would be very advisable to support IE 8 on XP, or is this not in your focus?

best regards
