Bug Description

From support ticket #12103:

From within the Ubuntu One application on the iPad 2 I click on a PDF file. The file downloads. After it is downloaded I click on the button to launch the PDF file in another application. I can choose from the following apps that I have installed: 1 ibooks, 2 Kindle, 3 GoodReader. They can all render PDFs. No matter which app I choose, nothing happens.

summary: - Files downloaded don't open in selected app
+ Downloaded files don't open in selected app

What version of iOS is this being seen on? Just trying on iOS 5 selecting a pdf -> share from the button bar -> iBooks works fine on my iPhone 4S.

ah ha! figured it out. once the item is selected, you have to select view and then the share button.

Here's the fix. you can pull in from lp:~tom-gall/+junk/ubuntuone-ios-files as well if you like. It's pretty trivial. Basically the docController object reference needs to be around after openIn: is done being run. The previous code, grabbed the reference and then immediately forgot it. If you look at the U1FileDetailsController.m it's implemented this way as well.
