Bug Description

Main issue is the warm grey background, which makes the white text hard to read. Other colour changes will make the control panel look better with the new background colours.

We want to change the colours so that the text is easier to read but also so that the clients can be consistent across all platforms. Once this has been implemented it can be used as a design guide for every platform going forward.

Main changes
-------------------
Background control panel: #adadad
Bottom text: #333333

Other changes
--------------------
Borders around white panels: #333333
Dashed border top area: #333333
Inactive tab background: #e3e0dd
Inactive tab border: #898989

I think it would be useful if you included before and after screenshots as I don't think in HTML colors. :-)

Thanks!

Hello Jeremy!

In the comment #1, Lisette added a screenshot of the controlpanel using the requested colours. I'm now attaching one screenshot of the current contropanel.

Thanks!

Natalia, thanks!

I'm a bit disappointed in the Ubuntu One panel because it looks so different from other apps on Ubuntu (like I complained about in bug 939853 ). Like for this bug, shouldn't it be pulling colors from the theme anyway?

Anyway, I'll give a +1 for Docs if this can land this week. We might add a screenshot showing Ubuntu One.

Jeremy,

I've talked abut the color scheme and color overriding with the decision-making people in Ubuntu One, and the agreement is that colors will be fixed and consistent among platforms. I'm sorry if this is disappointing for you :-/.

The branch will be ready by the end of this week, will attach to the bug report and will share screenshot if you want.

Thanks!

Need to get input from Jeremy before we can proceed with this. Screenshots were being done this week, and this could invalidate them. Documentation freeze deadline for ubuntu-doc is tomorrow.

<jbicha> skaet: joshuahoover: yes, updating ubuntu-one isn't a problem for Precise docs

Based on this, its approved as long as lands before April 4th.

We didn't end up getting any screenshots or text describing Ubuntu One done for 12.04.
