Hi Matteo,

Can you please add detailed instructions to reproduce this bug?

Also, we would need to know where this "an exception representing an authentication failure" appears, a screenshot would be the best thing to attach to this bug.

Thanks!

Hi all,

I am experiencing the same issue since Distro 10 I believe. I already have the Ubuntu One account created, and changed the password, but after I try to log in, I get this exact same error message. There is not much being done but I can't log in.

See attached screenshots. Screenshot-1 is where I am trying to log in and Screenshot-0 is the error message that i receive.

so apparently something must break when upgrading to 11.04....I followed the directions here https://answers.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntuone-client/+faq/778 to remove Ubuntu One completely, then I downloaded again from the software center and all is working fine now....hopefully this helps someone else or this issue will be corrected in a future update for people who havent tried Ubuntu One yet...

Recently I have also started getting the same error. I have followed the suggestions provided in jmilli92's mail without success.

I had the same problem as Jaydip, except I did not try to reinstall Ubuntu One. I happened to notice that in the date and clock settings, the time that was automatically pulling from the Internet was off by 4 hours. I manually changed the time to the actual time for my timezone, and then I was able to log in. I'm using Natty.

For reference, this was a fresh install of Natty, and I was syncing down the files from a previous installation.

Thank you cmuluna, I have been having ongoing issues with my system clock, but never realized that could have been the cause of this problem. I still need to sort out why my clock drifts about 2 hours everyday, but after setting my clock temporarily to the correct time, I finally was able to log into Ubuntu One.

Steps to reproduce: set your clock to a completely wrong time, and attempt to log into Ubuntu One with valid credentials.

Essentially, when you try to connect, it first loads and says "One moment please" and then either displays "An exception representing an authentication failure" or something else that I can't remember anymore. I tried:

, but the problem still persisted. This may not only be a problem with the program, but also could be a problem with the service for the particular type of request sent to the cloud servers b the program.
