Messaging menu turns blue when I get a share, can't do anything about it

Bug Description
Whenever I accept a share from the web ui, my messaging menu icon turns blue. Once it does, I can't really do anything about it and there's no indication of what happened if I miss the transient notify-osd message.
There should be an entry below the U1 section to accept/decline the share, and the icon should go back to normal when I do.
(I can get rid of it with the "clear" option, but it's no easy to discover and I still don't know what I'm clearing!)
