Bug Description
As reported by Ken Vandine:
Because the server.show() is not called at application startup, but only when we show the first message, we don't see the little triangle thingy (I believe that is the technical term) and we get no server indicator at all in some instances and one with a dummy message in others.
Also the server indicator does not have a callback attached by default, meaning that clicking it does nothing, whereas it should open the control panel.
