Bug Description

I can not get my computer to sync with the gui or terminal. In the gui, it lists the device but the connect button is grayed out, even after pressing restart. In terminal, when I use u1sdtool (-s, --start or -c) I get an error

"Traceback (most recent call last):
Failure: dbus.exceptions.DBusException: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken."

I am running 10.10 Desktop Edition

Please advise with any steps to remedy this issue, I have been searching foums for a few weeks to try any solutions I have seen there.
