Bug Description

Ubuntu one client shows status as Unknown. When trying to run u1sdtool commands to query the syncdaemon I get dbus errors of the form:

Oops, an error ocurred:
Traceback (most recent call last):
Failure: dbus.exceptions.DBusException: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.

The syncdaemon is running and is doing something but I cant get any status information and restarting the syncer doesn't help. As well some of my latest files don't seem to be showing server side.

I get this too. The only way I have found to 'workaround' this is to run:

u1sdtool --start

Let it run for a bit. Then you should be able to run u1sdtool commands as well as u1sdtool -c.

David,
I looked into this further. Seems there has been a patch introduced, to fix another problem, which is causing dbus to kill the process. From what I understand a fix is in the works. I am making this bug a dupe of that bug, bug 683116, so you can stay up on the status.

thank you,
