Jim,
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu One better. This particular bug has already been reported and is a duplicate of bug 528203, so it is being marked as such. Please look at the other bug report to see if there is any missing information that you can provide, or to see if there is a workaround for the bug (I have posted the workaround below for your convenience). Additionally, any further discussion regarding the bug should occur in the other report. Feel free to continue to report any other bugs you may find.

WORK AROUND:
The following steps will allow you to work around this issue:

1. Open Applications->Accessories->Terminal
2. Run the following commands:

sudo apt-get remove ubuntuone-client* python-ubuntuone-storage*
sudo apt-get install ubuntuone-client* python-ubuntuone-storage* python-httplib2

3. Either logout and log back into Ubuntu or restart
4. Access Ubuntu One via System->Preferences->Ubuntu One
5. Click on the "Devices" tab
6. Click on the "Connect" button to connect to the Ubuntu One service
