Bug Description

I am using two PCs (Caliban and Mystique) both running Ubuntu 9.10. I have a gnumeric spreadsheet in my Ubuntu One folders. A conflict was detected in that file today (28th of December) and has left me with what seems to be a corrupted file and lost data:

Online:
- Ubuntu One reports the file as having last been edited 9 days ago, i.e. on the 19th of December.

On Caliban:
- The file (to the best of my ability to remember) has not been edited on this computer.
- The last edit that can be seen in the file is from 18th of December.
- The "Date Modified" of the file is 24th of December and within 4 seconds of the other files in the directory, leading me to believe that they were all downloaded at the same time from Ubuntu One on that day.

On Mystique:
- I've edited the file on this computer several times since the 18th of December.
- This computer connected to Ubuntu One and updated today.
- The spreadsheet has been replaced with a smaller file with a ".u1conflict" extension and identified by Nautilus as a Gzip archive. Unfortunately, this file seems to be corrupt:
- Trying to extract the original file from the archive using File Roller 2.28.1 causes a pop-up to appear saying "An error occurred while extracting files". No error message appears on the terminal used to start file-roller.
- Trying to decompress the file using gzip 1.3.12 in a terminal produces the error message "unknown suffix -- ignored".

This is the first conflict I have had while using Ubuntu One.
