The current Ubuntu One client does not offer a way to display the status of the application by any method other than pop-up dialogs. Users get a dialog telling them files have updated each time they save. The result is that the frequent dialogs are *extremely* distracting and disruptive to user workflow.
An alternative would be for the U1 tray icon to convey the common and frequent notifications, and reserve pop-up dialogs only for network disconnects or errors requiring user attention.
"File updating" status could be indicated by a yellow arrow graphic on the tray icon, while "files are synced" could be simply indicated with a check-mark alone. |
