Ubuntu One doesn't work over proxy

Bug Description
Ubuntu One Client doesn't use the system defined proxy server.
By opening the Ubuntu One folder and clicking "Connect" the button changes to "Connecting" and stays that way forever without any error being reported to the user.
By using the icon in the notification area and clicking "Connect" nothing happens and no error is reported.
