Bug Description

When I removed the NetworkManager with a manual configuration of the network using /etc/network/interfaces, Ubuntu One stopped working. It reports that my files are up to date but it does not work and fails silently.

running the script returns:

ERROR:dbus.proxies:Introspect error on org.freedesktop.NetworkManager:/org/freedesktop/NetworkManager: dbus.exceptions.DBusException: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.freedesktop.NetworkManager was not provided by any .service files
org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.freedesktop.NetworkManager was not provided by any .service files

This sounds reasonable as I removed network-manager (I use /etc/network/interfaces now):
sudo aptitude remove network-manager
