Cannot add computer to account

When I start Applications/Internet/Ubuntu One, I get an Ubuntu One applet appear in the notification area, with a white cross on a red background superimposed on the bottom-right of the icon. No web page prompt appears in which I can add my computer to my account.

After quitting and running ubuntuone-client-applet from the command line, I get the following output:

Hi Mike, Thank you for submitting a new bug report! I can now see that the issue is a known one and we're working on a fix. It is related to continuing support for Python 2.6.2 and we're actively working on a solution. I'm marking this bug as a duplicate so that it gets tracked properly. Thank you, Joshua
