Bug Description
I'm not sure whether it is reported correctly or not since it is mainly a wishlist. If not please accept my apologize.
I know the Ubuntu One service is still in beta, but have you considered integrating any form of bzr support ?
Being able to track versions of different files can be a very useful feature.
For instance launchpad is nice, but as a computer scientist, I have to write papers and such things that I decently cannot put on a public repository, even though I end up writing open source code.
So adding some bits of launchpad into Ubuntu One together with a nice GUI to keep track of changes on the client side would just make my day.
I feel like the typical academic use case is a bit left in the cold, between the open source only or the corporate ones.
I'm sure you will end up finding a great way to please this old community of strong linux supporter. Having à la time machine service online is something I would definitely adhere.
Yours sincerly
Hi lucky, Thank you for the new feature suggestion! We have plans to support file versioning in the future. In the mean time, you can use bzr as you normally would but store your bzr branches in your Ubuntu One folder so that they are synced with the cloud. I'm not sure if this is what you were looking for or not. Please let me know if I'm not understanding your request. Thanks!
