Bug Description

the icon won't stop spinning saying: working. I haven't used the folder in a few hours and only uploaded a few MB on a broadband connection.

It not only spins continually, but is uploading at full bandwidth long after the files should have been updated. Even with a 1MB file in the folder, it will upload full bore all night.

Today after starting the PC the Ubuntu circle keeps spinning since hours. I haven't found anything else unusual. I haven't been uploading or downloading stuff from our to Ubuntuone.

Many changes have been made in the way the applet reports client status. Please try this again with the current client and see if that doesn't correct thee issue.

After waking from suspend, I've got the following symptoms:
- Icon spinning,
- Resource usage minimal (1% CPU), no noticeable disk io.
- Tooltip of tray icon says: "Ubuntu One: Working"
- Nautilus view of the Ubuntu One folder shows the normal blue bar, but the button says "Connect"
- The tray icon right-click menu says "Disconnect", report problem... etc.
- u1sdtool --current-transfers: Current uploads: 0 Current downloads: 0

The most dis-concerning is that the trayicon thinks I'm connected and nautilus thinks I'm not.

ubuntuone-client-gnome: Version: 0.91.1+r113-0ubuntu1~ppa1~karmic
ubuntuone-client: 0.91.1+r113-0ubuntu1~ppa1~karmic

If I disconnect using the tray-icon menu and then choose connect, everything returns back to normal and the icon stops spinning after it's initial sync.

I have the same problem that A. Bram Neijt has, however, if I disconnect and then reconnect, it still wont connect properly and does the same thing.

thestig_992: try to open the UbuntuOne homepage[1] and log in. It then stops if you disconnect/connect again. That helped me once. I also tried to connect/disconnect with nautilus. This gave me even weirder results, I can't disconnect it after that: it just immediately connects again and starts spinning.

I think I might have found a way to reproduce this bug:

1. Use the attached script, which will create a file with dd from /dev/urandom.
2. During the sync, kill the applet. I think you can achieve the same by logging out during the sync, but this is easier.
3. Start the applet from the menu

Result: it should start turning and never stop. It may be a timing issue so if the it doesn't work the first time, try it a second time.

Expected result:
The applets takes some time to recover but then finds it's way out and stops spinning.
