UbuntuOne - ubuntuone-client-applet --signup does not launch applet

I have installed the UbuntuOne packages as per the documentation on your site. All was going well except when I got to step #3 - launching the UbuntuOne Client Applet. Launching the applet seems to hang silently. From the commandline, I can see that the app is running, but there is no applet showing in my gnome dock, and the web page fails to load

Try opening aptitude and installing ubuntuone-client and ubuntuone-client-tools. I searched for any packages with "ubuntuone" in the name and installed them if they didn't conflict with any previously installed packages. Not particularly scientific but I hope it helps, it seems to have worked for me.

G'day Jon,

Thanks very much for your email. I have tried re-installing all the
tools... not sure what's going on! I'm going to go for the famous "reboot
to fix" this evening - I don't have time right now to close off all my apps
and re-open - busy day @ work!!!

Hi Andy,

Thought I should clarify in case a reboot doesn't help since I'll be out
of reach of the internet for the next few days. There were some
additional packages that I installed, not just reinstalled (though I did
try that too).

Thanks for opening this bug. A few other people have previously noticed
the issue in bug #369038 [1]. The resolution is also captured in
Launchpad Answer #76131 [2]. I hope everyone enjoys participating in the
Ubuntu One beta test. Keep contributing bugs.
