I can't seem to replicate this. On the other hand, while trying to replicate it, I made the mistake of deleting a file in the folder because it was selected, rather than the folder. I think the UI is confusing in this regard. Could that be what happened to you, or can you still replicate the problem?

status: New → Incomplete

Tim, thanks for dedicating time to this.
No, I'm sure I was not trying to delete a file instead of the folder.
The problem still persists for me. I created a folder "folderone" into "My Files" by using mkdir on my machine.
Then, I went on the web browsing my data handled by Ubuntu One with Konqueror (the time before I also tested with Opera and Firefox).
I click on "folderone" on the left panel. Nofiles are displayed (it's empty, indeed).
I then click on "Delete" on the right panel, but nothing happens.

I see the same effect. I can select an arbitrary folder, click on "Delete" and nothing happens.

Then I'd like to add that my files/folders weren't "shared" either.

Same to me. I was able to delete a folder via the web interface (well, that folder was not replicated to my machines, but that's another problem...)

For me, Recursive deletion of a folder via webif does not work if it contains subfolders - 100% replicable. Hope this helps.

Same as Dennis Heinson.
I can't delete non-empty folders, I have to delete file by file

To be more precise:
- I only tried deleting empty folders, previously created via the web interface
- works with Firefox 3
- doesn't work with Konqueror (the default browser the applet opens by selecting "Go to web" (kubuntu Jaunty)

I'm having the same problem with deleting a folder. It doesn't have any files in it and hasn't been shared. I deleted it from my HD and expected U1 to sync the change. Now I can't get rid if it in the web list.

Confirming! created a folder through web interface, never shared, never put files in it, doesn't show up in desktop client, by using delete from overview, the folder appears to go away, but on refresh it's still there.

Using jaunty with recent updates (firefox 3.0.12 etc)

Still persists for me. If you delete all your stuff from "My Files" then it will delete all files but folders will remain. You can delete your folders on the web interface but not from your local Nautilus "Ubuntu One" folder.

affected me for while, but just found workaround!
disconnect from ubuntu one, and quit the client. then, without starting the client, go to the folder in nautilus. click the connect button. after a while it should download the folder to nautilus, where you can delete it. no guarentees, but it worked for me!

i have the problem too - i can deleted a folder from nautilus, however there is no way to delete a folder from the web (firefox). There delete option just seems to be an option to delete files not folders.

Thanks, all.

We're in the process of rolling out a significant update to the web UI, (re-)including the ability to delete folders. Look for it to land in the next few days.

Thanks,

Zac

I see these files on my web account, not existing in my computers.

"My synced folders

PATENTES uploading"

These files are not existing any more and there is no way to delete the trashes.
I tried to delete my U1 account and subscribe again. Same thing. In the new? account still exist.
These files are not existing in my computer, because I made a fresh install of 9.10, formating my Hard drive.
I had various problems using U1 and as I understand the problems do not concern the software installed in my computers, but are originated from my defective account. How I can delete -totally- my account and subscribe again using the same data?
