after installing ubuntuone, the corresponding menu element doesn't launch anything

Bug Description

No way to start the client

ps reports a program
/usr/bin/python /usr/bin/ubuntuone-client-applet --signup
running, but nothing happens on the screen

Thanks for the bug report. However, the program does not launch a window, rather, it launches a daemon that displays an icon in the notification bar. Please check the notification bar (Top-right corner, should be near the time and network icon) for the Ubuntu logo floating above the clouds. Left-clicking on this icon opens the file manager to the folder for file sharing.

Actually, the first time, a browser window should open up to ask for permission to allow the computer to access your Ubuntu One account. If this isn't happening, it's a bug.

Ok, it seems that the bug is that ubuntuone needs network-manager, and I had unistalled it beacuse it's broken in a network setting with static IP.

Please add network-manager into ubuntuone dependencies

I had the same experience, had to add the python package, added it, and still no action when the program is called from the menu.
