U1-windows: Windows Ubuntu One Client rejects password

Bug Description

I've installed Ubuntu One client version 3.0.1 for Windows on Vista SP2. It's the same machine that I run my main Ubuntu install on.

On trying to login, I get:
The authentication failed.

I know the password is correct.

I can login normally using my browser, and of course with the Ubuntu client.

I have experienced this exact issue running Windows 7 and Ubuntu One client 3.0.1. Like hte original poster I can sign in to my account b pointing my web browser to one.ubuntu.com, however logging in using the desktop client results in the message "authentication failed". I can also access my One account from my Linux machine using the desktop client. The problem appears to exist only with the Windows client.

I can't replicate this on a windows 7 VM with client 3.0.1. Setting as confirmed and assignign to Desktop, since there's multiple reports of this.

Just installed ubuntuone-3.0.1-windows-installer.exe on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and happens the same: "The authentication failed." If I try to reset my password: "Sorry we did not recognize the email address"

I also know that my password is correct because I can log in https://one.ubuntu.com and I'm also able to post in this site :)

From the logs attached by Jane, I think this is the same issue as #998527. I'll mark it as duplicate. Please all take a look at your logs and at the comments on that other bug. If you have questions, let us know.
