Bug Description

Samsung Galaxy tab P1000

ditto - Android 2.3.5 / Gingerbread.XWKJ2 - SGS2. And of course, all time related settings are correct at the device.

Hello everyone,

First of all, thank you for coming here and reporting/confirming the issue.

Could you please try with this APK:

http://goo.gl/EX1nh (QR code: http://goo.gl/EX1nh.qr )

This got us by surprise, I'm not definitely sure what the problem is. I cannot reproduce that on 2.3.3 HTC Desire Z nor couple of emulator setups. I've fixed the crash, which essentially will show the dialog that time check failed (so not much), saving a preference so changelog does not appear automatically more than once. Still, time check problem is the one I'm most interested in.

Thanks for testing!

Michał Karnicki,

Thanks for the quick response. Still, after installing the APK, I'm still having problems with Ubuntu One Files. First I get a "Time check error" popup. If I try again, it appears again. If I hit cancel, I get the "Temporary problem" popup. There, if I hit "Ok", it will show the first one again. If I hit "Cancel", it will exit the app!

Just my experience, though.

Hi again everyone,

So the problem is here:

com.ubuntu.sso I Could not check time drift: Unparseable date: Thu, 10 Nov 2011 20:10:54 GMT

To me, that constitutes a parsable date, which can be checked with this code:
https://pastebin.canonical.com/55639/

I'm a tiny step from assuming it's an Android bug.

SimpleDateFormatter called with Locale.ENGLISH does parse the date correctly. Sorry guys, and expect the fix soon. (Most probably today.) Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks again for great support.

@Maicon 1.0.4.1 is on the Android Market, please update. Yes, it was a localization issue (date should have been parsed with English locale).

With the last fix, you need not to change language to English before you log in. That's exactly what we've fixed :) We are happy it is working for you again!

Got the same problem even after installing the patch by Karnicki on Huawei IDEOS (not sure which specific model) Android 2.2 in English.
Detailed steps:
-Start Ubuntu One File (after last fix)
-Message shows "Time check error - Failed to adjust time. Is your device time set correctly"
-"Try again" button leads to the same message
-"Cancels" button leads to message "Temporary problem - At the moment we can't verify if your device's time is correct. Please try again later"
Does someone experiences the same?
