ubuntuforums.org does not pass XHTML 1.0 standards verification

Bug Description

When any ubuntuforums.org is run through http://validator.w3.org/ it fails the standards validation test.

Here is the standards line from the source:

# <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

Many of these errors are seem to be related to the vBB code. We will let them know.

Thank you for reporting this, I can confirm that the site fails validation. The homepage and forum areas only seems to have some minor problems. Since this isn't resulting in the pages not being displayed correctly, I'll assign a Low priority to this.

Mike, is there an upstream bug report that we can attach to this?

Connor, no upstream. The result of the errors are not because of vbulletin code but because of addons/plugins to enhance the code. Once vbulletin 3.8 is released as gold I'll be re-styling the forums and during this time the issues will be corrected.

Bug report from three years ago. Heh. The issues are still here because the forums are still using the same version of vBulletin they were using in 2009. Once the upgrade to vBulletin 4 is complete, it should validate fine.
