Bug Description
Many of the images on the front page have alt= text that does not make sense.
In some cases, it repeats adjacent text, such as application names:
------------
Featured apps on the Ubuntu Software Centre
* Chromium
Chromium
Internet | FREE
Chromium browser.
* BEEP
BEEP
Games | $9.99
A 2D platformer/shooter game with physics-based puzzles.
* Inkscape

* World of Goo

------------
In other cases, the image is decorative, so non-empty alt= text reads as a non-sequitur:
------------
Why develop for Ubuntu?

Get into the desktop
Have you always wanted to develop applications for the desktop?
Ubuntu gives you the tools to get up and running in no time.
* Braid in the Ubuntu Software Centre
Open source and commercial apps
Ubuntu desktop apps can be open or closed source, and free or
paid-for. You decide the price and the applicable licence.
* A class of children using Ubuntu
Audience of millions
As the third most popular desktop operating system, Ubuntu reaches
millions around the globe. Develop on Ubuntu, and so can your app.
------------
Both kinds of image should have alt="". Non-empty alt= should be used only for images where understanding their presence is important to understanding a surrounding or adjacent element. <http://
