The site hardly mentions of developing apps for ubuntu desktop

Bug Description

The main site has no mention of developing apps for ubuntu desktop. Even on the get-started page, there only information about mobile app developement. One has to search a bit to find it on the resources page.

Please add some prominent links to a page describing desktop app development.

I think this is a legitimate bug that needs to be addressed or else we have an obvious and central missing piece in our communications on the portal.

I recently added the new Start section. This has two sub sections, one of which is named Ubuntu for Devices. This prominent name clarifies that the target is Devices, not Desktop.

The first page in this section is Installing Ubuntu for Devices. The second line is a note that says: "
Note: To install Ubuntu Desktop, see http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop"

It may also be that we should add some content clarifying the current situation as Ubuntu moves towards convergence.
