Bug Description

I'm running Ubuntu Budgie 18.04.01 and I love it - except, I cannot access files stored on my Netgear NAS (SMB) storage when running Inkscape 0.91.x and 0.92.x. Inkscape can't see/use the NAS storage at all.

I hate to point the finger at Budgie but when I run Inkscape (same versions) on plain Ubuntu 18.04.1 (Gnome 3 interface) Inkscape accesses my NAS storage just fine.

Have you got both Budgie and Ubuntu sessions installed at the same time? Or are you describing two different installations?

This has nothing to-do with the budgie-desktop itself.

Its probably a package that UB doesnt carry as a default but U does. So installing said package will resolve this.

Not having a NAS myself I cannot verify though.

I have dedicated a laptop to solving this problem. I have used 2 separate hard drives, one drive with Ubuntu Budgie 18.04.1 and one with Ubuntu 18.04.1. I then installed Inkscape on each, separately.

I wouldn't doubt a missing package within Budgie is the problem, but I'm not a guru to figure out which one is needed. I admit, a missing package wouldn't technically be a bug, but the situation as it exists now makes Budgie unusable for me today, and Budgie is the flavor I would prefer to use.

Thank you for your comment. I hope someone can help solve this.

My advice would be to also create a topic on ubuntuforums.org and raise a
question on askubuntu.com

A greater range of subject matter experts hangout on the above sites rather
than launchpad.net
