Bug Description

lsb_release -rd
---------------
Description: Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS
Release: 16.04

apt-cache policy diatheke
-------------------------
diatheke:
  Installed: 1.7.3+dfsg-7
  Candidate: 1.7.3+dfsg-7
  Version table:
 *** 1.7.3+dfsg-7 500
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/universe amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

All search results return the last Bible verse twice.
The last Bible verse should only be return once.
This is new to 16.04 and did not happen in 14.04.

For example, run: diatheke -b KJV -k John 3:16

Returned results:

John 3:16:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
(KJV)

This is a serious bug for me because I feed the results to a speech engine.

Thank you for your support,
Mike

New comment:

Pleeeeease fix this bug! I reported it Sept 20, 2016 and it is now Apr 4, 2017! Have I been patient enough yet?

Really, this bug is now messing up the work I am trying to release in my BibleVox project on GitHub.

Respectfully,
Michael

This bug still exists in Ubuntu 18.04. Version 4.7 is what is installed. Manually compiling version 4.8 shows it is fixed.
