Bug Description

Hi,

I have updated my kubuntu from 4.4.0-127-generic to 4.4.0-128-generic.

When I try to boot with the new kernel, the system hangs during the Flash-Screen.
When I try booting in recovery mode, I can see, that the boot hangs with the following message:
Dependency failed for Cryptography Setup for cryptswap1
Dependency failed for Encrypted Volumes
Dependency failed for dev-mapper-cryptswap1.device
Dependency failed for /dev/mapper/cryptswap1
Dependency failed for Swap
Dependency failed for /dev/disk/by-uuid/fea3e83b-933d-49fc-a3d0-88448a0b7871

When I boot with the old kernel everything works fine.

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream stable kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.4 stable kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

Hi Joseph,
I have booted from the new kernel (4.4.137)
The boot process took very long (about 2 min), but then succeeded.

In /var/log/syslog I have found the following entries:

So I would say the Problem still exists...
If you want, I can attach some more logfiles :)
