source package build is failing

Bug Description

Trying to build the source package using sbuild is failing with the following error.

Based on the error message, this seems to be the same as https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=819089. Note that this is fixed in Ubuntu Yakkety, and that a patch is available in the upstream bug report.
