Since this seems to have been forgotten, I just thought I'd mention that since the kernel version of USBIP is working, the USBIP package should probably be removed. It doesn't work anymore and only causes confusion (I spent a regrettable amount of time trying to get it working, only to discover it's not the same thing as the kernel version found in linux-tools-generic).
